Experience Designer | Contractor

The opportunity

Adobe Design is looking for a versatile Experience Designer to join our Search & Discover team. We are exploring the intersection of search, rich content discovery, and machine learning in order to enhance users creative expression. The right candidate should be passionate about leveraging cutting edge technologies to develop intuitive and delightful user experiences.

Adobe Design works directly with executives, product managers, and engineering leadership to bring great products to life. This position is based in San Francisco, California as most of our team is co-located work together in person to make the best products possible.

What you’ll do

• Create user experience goals, priorities, and deliverables that align with product milestones, coordinate multiple projects to completion, and drive adoption of user experience practices.
• Proactively engage with multiple project stakeholders, including product managers, engineers, and other designers in drafting & brainstorming initial concepts.
• Convey design ideas and end-to-end user experience via sketches, storyboards, hi-fidelity mockups, prototypes, or animations.
• Create designs that meet product objectives, fit within Adobe Design guidelines, and respond to user feedback and usability testing findings.
• Support development teams throughout the implementation cycle.
• Be an advocate for the user. Conduct primary and/or secondary research, as well as quick rounds of usability tests.

What you’ll bring to the team

• BA/BFA degree, or equivalent work experience, with an emphasis on user experience, interaction design, or visual design.
• Ability to grasp the essence of complex design problems and user pain points, and translate them to practical design solutions.
• Enduring curiosity with a track record of shipping great designs.
• Proven in fundamental visual and interaction design principles.
• Ability to communicate a design strategy that meet user needs, product requirements, and business goals.
• Ability to accept and design against feedback from leadership in a rapid iterative design process and effectively produce multiple highly polished and professional finished works under tight timelines.
• Strong interpersonal, written and oral communication skills.
• Keen interest in contributing to the creative spirit of the Design team and the company.
• A deep love of design and a passion for enabling creatives through cutting-edge technologies.
