UI & Instructional Writer | Contractor

The opportunity

Come join the content team behind Adobe Express. We’re a team of user-focused Content Writers and Content Strategists, and we’re looking for an experienced, versatile UX Design Writer to join us in building Adobe Express.

Adobe Express helps our users make standout social content, videos, logos, and more—no experience required. Our users are marketers, influencers, small business owners, and anyone who wants to design unique content.

The Express UI & Instructional Writer will produce and edit app copy including user interface text, onboarding experiences, contextual assistance and notifications, landing pages, tutorials, videos scripts, guidance and best practices, and more.

We’re looking for someone who is passionate about language, design, and how the two interact to make technology accessible to users.

What you’ll do

• Produce, write, and edit inviting, clear, and concise UX copy for the Adobe Express app. Copy includes user interface text, onboarding experiences, contextual assistance and notifications, landing pages, tutorials, videos scripts, guidance and best practices, and more.
• Create and refine copy request and intake processes.
• Own copy workflow between the content team and cross-functional partner teams including product marketing, product management, and localization.
• Understand, implement, and contribute to our style guide and brand voice.
• Build documentation around product taxonomy and terminology – and be the point person on our team for evangelizing and enforcing language standards and consistency in the app.
• Use data from A/B tests and other experiments to inform strategic copy choices.
• Help drive copy coherence across Adobe organizations and apps.

What you need to succeed

• 1-3+ years writing or content design experience and a certification, degree, or training in English, Creative Writing, Human-centered Design, Literature, or related field OR equivalent experience.
• Portfolio review of writing and content samples.
• North American English fluency.
• Flexible, versatile writing across form factors, subject matter, and audiences
• Experience with instructional video and visuals
• Experience working on a design team (interaction, visual)
• Experience incorporating user research into copy and UI design.
• Passion for DIY content creation and graphic design.
• You're a self-motivated, independent problem solver who is comfortable with ambiguity, collaborative, and eager to share your points of view and expertise.
