Visual Content Designer | Contractor
The opportunity
Adobe is seeking a multifaceted Visual Content Designer to support the Adobe Express content offering through the creation of highly useable and compelling templates.
With your background in brand and digital marketing, you know how to create world-class social and motion content. Utilizing powerful in-app content such as video, illustration, text, and image assets, paired with Adobe Express animation presets, you will lead the way for new and exciting, thumb-stopping motion templates. Your work will inspire and empower the next generation of communicators by simplifying and demystifying animated content, putting design and social best practices in their hands.

Adobe Express is a cloud-based web and mobile solution to help you keep pace with the demands of beautiful and engaging everyday communications. Non-profits, teachers, students, small businesses, marketers, bloggers, and office workers are all trying to keep up with the demand for visual content needed to stand out on social media or in their daily tasks. Most do not have the design skill, the money to hire help, or the time to learn a professional tool. Express is their fun, fast, and frictionless solution to communicate with the world.
Key responsibilities
- Drive design velocity, standards, and creation of video templates
- Partner with content and marketing teams and product teams to ideate unique ways of bringing additional value to video content
- Work at a fast speed effectively, delivering high-quality design output under timing constraints.
The ideal candidate for this position has:
- 3 - 5+ years’ experience as brand, motion or visual designer for advertising, editorial or video
- An understanding of modern usability trends as they relate to content-first experiences
- Excellent understanding of motion, animation, and movement
- An obsession with typography, grids, and graphic design as a practice
- A keen eye for compelling design patterns, imagery and trends that stand out on social
- Strong grasp of visual trends in marketing, advertising, and publishing
- Ability to illustrate stories or themes in a simple, effective style in-line with content best practices and legal standards
- Excellent writing and communication skills, with ability to produce attention grabbing copy
- BA/BS or above in a design-related field, or comparable work experience
- A self-driven approach to problem solving. You love a challenge. If you don’t know how to do it right away, you’ll figure it out!
- A solid understanding of video formats and codecs. Recommend best practices of files to be used across various channels
- A portfolio displaying a wide range of high-quality motion pieces and/or motion effects
Nice to have
- Experience with After Effects, Photoshop, Illustrator.
