Sr User Experience Designer

The opportunity

Are you excited about creativity and the future of creative tools? At Adobe, we strive to empower creativity for all with powerful software for use in digital imaging, filmmaking, illustration, and more. From the small details to big-picture feature concepts and long-term strategy, our work is put to test by millions of artists and agencies. We seek to enable creativity for more people in more places, every day. This is your chance to define creative tools for creative people, just like you!

The role

Adobe Design, our nearly 400-person product design group, is looking for a dedicated Senior Designer to join the Adobe Illustrator team and help us evolve the industry-leading vector graphics software. We work closely with business, marketing, engineering, and research to deeply understand customer needs and deliver the industry standard in tools for print and digital media. We’re seeking a designer who thinks holistically and uses modern tools to evaluate concepts quickly. One who favours interactive prototypes over flat mock-ups, and is willing to engage in both exploration of concepts and refinement of details. One with an inquisitive personality and the dream to evolve, craft and build for the future.

What you’ll do

Work alongside other designers, prototypers, engineers and product managers. Concept new features and evolve workflows to improve the creative experience. Present design vision and strategy via sketches, storyboards, hi-fidelity mock-ups, and/or prototypes. Clearly articulate rationale, logic and research as supporting evidence for well thought through decisions. Lead, mentor, and collaborate with other designers on the team as they work with you to deliver on this vision. Participate in peer design critiques to give and receive feedback.

How to apply

To be considered for this role please submit a resume and online portfolio with examples of your product/experience design work. We are particularly interested in your process. It is very effective to include case studies that show off the evolution of your work. Early sketches, nixed ideas or challenges overcome are all encouraged artifacts. The journey is just as important as an extraordinary finished product.
