VP of Design, Document Cloud

The opportunity

Envision impacting the lives of 500 million users through design leadership. That’s what motivates us in Adobe Document Cloud. We’re looking for a VP of Design for Document Cloud, someone with a great sense of both user experience and product to lead the experience for Acrobat, Sign, and Scan. Partnering with product and engineering executives in crafting the strategic direction of the Document Cloud business unit; responsible for turning strategies into actionable opportunities, and driving design excellence throughout product development cycles.

You’ll manage an impactful team of creatives by demonstrating your care of design craft and details, and love for our products and consumers. You’ll navigate ambiguity with data-informed decision making, and bringing to bear your past experiences as a design leader. You’ll be excited about the opportunity to help us set the standard for Adobe’s world-class design organization.

Professional Experience & Qualifications:

The VP of Design, Document Cloud will have 10+ years of people leadership and management experience in software product experience design and cloud-native/SaaS businesses. They will be a design leader with a passion for developing and shipping products with a high bar for quality and user experience.

Additional qualifications include:

People, Product, and Process Leadership
Deep knowledge and expertise across design disciplines and product sense. Ability to be a sounding board and thought partner to design leaders and senior ICs on the team. The ideal candidate balances vision and execution, demonstrates curiosity, and surfaces novel connections in the work of their teams. They can zoom out and see the big picture. They lead empathically by fostering an inclusive and empowering culture. They should have prior experience leading global teams and designing scaled consumer-grade applications. Ability to influence partners to drive strategy and roadmap. Ability to and interest in impacting operational processes to deliver great design.

Organizational Savvy
A deep understanding of matrixed organizations and what it takes to get things done. Ability to demonstrate leadership in communicating complex ideas effectively at the executive level. Ability to drive and influence OKRs, taking joint accountability for successes or failures of business results informed by design. Understanding of how to partner with peers in a design organization, including program operations, user research, prototyping, and content strategists.

Storytelling and Communication
Excellent communication skills, with the ability to clearly articulate complex problem spaces and the strategies behind design decisions. Strong presentation and storytelling skills with the ability to adjust messaging across different levels in an organization.

Collaboration and Transparency
Your default mode is to partner with your peers, promoting a user-centric culture to product, engineering, and product marketing teams.

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several  U.S. geographic markets, and we pay differently based on those defined markets. The U.S. pay range for this position is $204,800 -- $429,500 annually. Pay within this range varies by work location and may also depend on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Your recruiter can share more about the specific salary range for the job location during the hiring process.

At Adobe, for sales roles starting salaries are expressed as total target compensation (TTC = base + commission), and short-term incentives are in the form of sales commission plans. Non-sales roles starting salaries are expressed as base salary and short-term incentives are in the form of the Annual Incentive Plan (AIP).

In addition, certain roles may be eligible for long-term incentives in the form of a new hire equity award.
