Group Design Manager, GenStudio
The opportunity
The GenStudio design team seeks a Group Design Manager to help us harness the power of creation, marketing, and analytics tools through developing new Gen AI powered marketing workflows. As an integral member of this team, you will push the boundaries of what’s possible today while keeping a keen focus on enterprise customers, our strategic business priorities, and the changing landscape of Gen AI driven marketing.
In this role, you will:
In this highly collaborative role, you’ll drive the Activation team for GenStudio for Performance Marketing. The activations team covers create, content & activations that power the creative and generative workflows in GenStudio. You will be an integral part of setting up the foundation of the create to activation workflows. This would enable GenStudio to realize the vision of delivering on-brand and performant creation.
On a fast-moving team, you’ll manage, lead & drive the team forward through strategy, rapid explorations, feedback, and iterations focused on product goals. Your strong visual & verbal communication skills and capacity to remain user and outcome focused are paramount in helping you influence and persuade.
- Manage a team of designers & design managers to establish the future vision for campaigns, content, insights & activation to drive customer value
- Drive design excellence and contribute to setting the standard for design at our company
- Collaborate with designers, content strategists, and researchers including developing standard processes for building and using componentized patterns across the different areas and products supporting the Activation journeys
- Support the design teams and dev/engineering teams, across multiple GenStudio workstreams
- Work closely with product managers to ensure what we're building is usable
- Help development teams engineer components by ensuring they are engineered according to design and interaction specifications
- Work with designers to maintain the system as well as create and update documentation
- Help establish design standards and principles for scalability, efficiency, and consistency
- Evaluate and improve usability and accessibility of components and be a champion for the user
- Improve the design to development handoff process
- Supervise customer & UX research that is relevant to the team
- Participate in customer calls as well as external conferences
- Help with hiring and setting up the right design team structure and culture
What you need to succeed
Must Have:
- 8+ years’ overall experience in product or UX design.
- 5+ years’ experience leading design teams
- Considerable experience in building and orchestrating a cross-product strategy and vision
- Grow and establish a user-centric design practice where designers develop and represent confident POVs; focusing on long-term vision and near-term goals.•
- Partner with product and engineering to envision the possibilities and opportunities for future technology
- Build an impactful collaborative environment and encourage deep partnerships with cross-functional teams, setting a high bar for design craft, conceiving, defining, and driving design strategy.
- Work across a complex product space, serving as a champion for cohesive workflows and empowering your team to drive alignment among collaborators.•
- Jump in on key workstreams, being responsible for the strategy and execution for high-impact projects.
- Drive a team-wide design process, collaborating closely with program management.
- Represent the team and the team’s work to executives.
- Coach and mentor designers, attract design talent to the team, and hire, grow, retain, and promote designers
Nice to Have:
- Hands on skills and experience building & designing in Figma
- Experience collaborating on a multi-product design tea
- Prior experience crafting design strategy for GenAI, platform experiences, and/or systems
- Deep knowledge around and passion for accessible and inclusive design
Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several U.S. geographic markets, and we pay differently based on those defined markets. The U.S. pay range for this position is $155,100 -- $277,000 annually. Pay within this range varies by work location and may also depend on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. At Adobe, for sales roles starting salaries are expressed as total target compensation (TTC = base + commission), and short-term incentives are in the form of sales commission plans. Non-sales roles starting salaries are expressed as base salary and short-term incentives are in the form of the Annual Incentive Plan (AIP).
In addition, certain roles may be eligible for long-term incentives in the form of a new hire equity award.
