Staff Designer, Adobe Firefly Mobile
The opportunity
Are you a systems thinker who is passionate about designing GenAI experiences for mobile? The Firefly design team is seeking a staff designer to help us build the best next-generation mobile tools for creativity. Our collaborative team designs the vision for future possibilities while partnering closely with engineers and scientists. We believe GenAI should accelerate creativity and not replace it; this role is to play a key role in designing that future on mobile devices.
What you’ll do
As a leader with a vision on our team, you will be an integral part of designing comprehensive experiences to transform the future of Firefly on mobile devices. Because what we do involves many partner teams, we need someone who is motivated by collaboration and driving progress toward the best solutions through leadership and innovation.
In this role, you will:
- Be the go-to subject matter expert in designing Firefly for mobile devices.
- Define and communicate clear strategy and vision in a relatable, inspirational, and simple way to understand.
- Proactively reach out and listen to the creative community, reading between the lines to connect friction points to experience solutions.
- Operate at multiple altitudes; move seamlessly from designing pixel-level details to high-level vision.
- Find opportunities to create simplicity out of complexity. Make a plan and take action in ambiguous circumstances.
- Explore design ideas via sketches, storyboards, wireframes, and prototypes. Use feedback and research to refine and iterate toward product objectives. Pair strong communication skills with a user-centered perspective in order to influence and persuade. Move from big picture, to tiny details with ease and grace.
- Dig in with prototypers, engineers and researchers to understand the capabilities of new and developing technologies to match user needs.
- Proactively collaborate across multiple teams to align on strategy and extend design patterns.
What you need to succeed
Must-haves:
- A background and understanding of creative tooling for imagery, video and/or audio for mobile devices
- A history of leading design for and launching complex, yet intuitive products
- College degree or equivalent practical experience in design with an emphasis on graphic design, HCI, or related design field
- Mastery of Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, XD and other design tools such as Keynote, Sketch, or Figm
- Ability to build functional prototypes to test with users and or work closely with prototypers
- Experience working closely and iteratively with engineering teams to bring the vision to life
- Very strong interpersonal, written and oral communication skills and storytelling skills
- Willingness and ability to be a part of the creative spirit of the Adobe Design team
- Excellent design craft and the ability to blend that with a strong intuition for business
Nice-to-haves:
- Prior experience crafting mobile products for the video, animation and/or audio space and/or GenAI, platform experiences, and/or systems.
- Deep knowledge around and passion for accessible and inclusive design
