VP of Design, India
The opportunity
Are you a visible, community-minded design leader who can energize a large organization and the broader industry? Adobe is hiring a Vice President to lead Adobe Design in India. You will oversee a multi-disciplinary organization of over 100 practitioners and leaders who deliver world-class experiences across Adobe’s portfolio. You’ll run an amazing team - nurturing the talent of the team you have, recruiting new top talent, all while building an inclusive, impactful culture. You will be the public face of Adobe Design India by raising the team’s profile through talks, media, and community partnerships.
As the site executive for Adobe Design in India, you will partner closely with global Adobe Design VPs, as well as cross-functional executives in India evolving and elevating the role of design in the region. You’ll attract, hire, mentor, and retain exceptional talent. You’ll ensure your team is tightly integrated with global programs and that our culture is a beacon for designers around the world. You’ll host all-hands, drive site-wide communications, build strong connections with the eternal India design community.
What you’ll do
Design Excellence
- Represent the India design team in global design leadership meetings, design reviews, and offsites; enforce mechanisms for consistent quality, velocity, cross-geo and cross-cloud collaboration.
- Be the India advocate for Adobe Design’s two top initiatives – Driving Product Quality and using AI to Advance the Quality of output coming from our organization.
- Champion ethical, accessible, and AI-augmented design practices; foster experimentation that advances Adobe’s leadership in creativity and productivity.
- Own the track of Adobe’s annual Design Summit; develop site-specific initiatives and brand-building programs internally and externally while collaborating with the global Design Summit production team.
- Connect the dots between teams. Find opportunities for teams to share standard methodologies , collaborate, and work together to ship the best products for our customers.
People Management
- Provide leadership, support, and guidance to local teams with a focus on growing and mentoring Senior Managers and Directors.
- Attract, hire, and retain top talent at scale; partner with TA on senior pipelines; champion excellence across recruiting and career development.
- Look across the team and product portfolio to align resources to the top priorities with the highest potential for impact through design.
- Build and sustain a healthy culture: set norms, celebrate wins, and ensure managers are strong coaches; create programs that improve onboarding, learning, and craft growth.
- Model integrity, transparency, and empathy. Help people do the best work of their careers.
Team and Org Leadership
- Lead a 100+ person organization spanning product design, research, content strategy, prototyping, design systems, program management/operations, and AI/ML design through a team of senior leaders.
- Act as a local brand ambassador, representing the Adobe's values and initiatives within the local community and industry events. Serve as Adobe Design India’s public voice: keynote at conferences, industry panels, engage with press and universities, and host community events that raise the profile of Adobe Design.
- Own site-wide communication and narrative. Align teams in India with Adobe Design’s global vision, priorities, and quality bar; drive clarity through quarterly all-hands, regular reviews, and leader forums.
- Collaborate with Design Operations on headcount planning, budgeting, vendor strategy.
What you need to succeed
- 20 years’ experience in the ux or product design field, including 8+ years managing managers and senior leaders across multiple fields. Experience working in global product organizations is a must.
- Demonstrated success running large, multi-geo teams (80–150+) and shipping complex products with U.S.-based partners and executives.
- A visible public presence: frequent conference speaker/panelist, strong writing or media footprint, and a track record of community engagement in India.
- Exceptional communication skills. Comfortable on stage and in the boardroom; able to craft a clear narrative, influence senior partners, and inspire large groups.
- Proven ability to hire, develop, and retain top talent; strong org-design instincts and succession planning.
- Experience establishing healthy design culture, rituals, and quality systems across distributed teams.
- Adept at partnering with Product, Engineering, and Research peers; fluent in metrics, experimentation, and design operations.
