Sr Staff Designer, Acrobat Cloud Foundations
The opportunity
Do you have a passion for well-crafted digital experiences, pixel-perfect UI designs, and solving design problems at scale? We’re looking for a Senior Staff Designer to lead our Foundations effort within Document Cloud. This role will drive the evolution of our design systems, standards, and infrastructure, ensuring our experiences are consistent, accessible, and scalable across the entire ecosystem.
You’ll shape the foundational layer that unites our products enabling designers and engineers to work with greater velocity and craft. This is a highly collaborative and technically grounded role that sits at the intersection of design excellence, systems thinking, and engineering integration.

What you’ll do
Apply your passion for design systems to help craft the next generation of productivity tools at Adobe! Empower our millions of users to consume, comprehend, create, and collaborate on documents in new ways, including generative AI technology.
- Lead the evolution of Document Cloud’s design system, defining the standards, components, and design tokens that power our experiences.
- Partner with engineering teams to integrate design standards into code, ensuring high-quality implementation across platforms.
- Define and document design principles, interaction patterns, and accessibility standards that unify Acrobat, Express, and related products.
- Create and maintain tools and workflows that enable designers and developers to build efficiently and consistently.
- Apply human-centric design and system-thinking expertise to create future-forward ideas, designs, guidelines, and more to Acrobat’s ecosystem
- Partner with product teams across Acrobat and Adobe to guide our product experience, foster contribution from product experts, and enable successful adoption of foundations as the product evolves
- Be an advocate for accessibility standards and inclusive design and ensure our foundations overall accessibility compliance
What you need to succeed
- 8+ years of proven experience in product design, with a strong portfolio showcasing your expertise in design systems
- Prior experience leading design systems and a track record of for solving complex design problems at scale.
- Deep expertise in UI architecture, component design, responsive systems, and multi-platform UX.
- Expert-level proficiency with Figma and Figma libraries
- A collaborative and open-minded outlook, and a high degree of comfort working in a fast-paced environment
- Creative and analytical skills to facilitate workshops and communicate insights that inspire design opportunities
- Excellent interpersonal, written, verbal communication skills
- Ability to effectively collaborate with engineering partners to ensure coded components meet design specifications and intent
- Ability to communicate design strategy and rationale effectively and concisely to all functions and levels of the organization
- Comfort mentoring, encouraging an inclusive and empowering environment for other designers to do innovative and impactful work by leveraging the systems you help create.
- Experience designing systems that enable accessible and inclusive interfaces for people with disabilities upholding WCAG conformance.
Preferred Accessibility Design Skills
- Experience designing accessible and inclusive interfaces for people with disabilities.
- Familiarity with WCAG standards and testing for accessibility compliance.
- Certifications such as CPACC, WAS, CPWA, or ADS from IAAP are a plus.
Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several U.S. geographic markets, and we pay differently based on those defined markets. The U.S. pay range for this position is $157,300 -- $292,200 annually. Pay within this range varies by work location and may also depend on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Your recruiter can share more about the specific salary range for the job location during the hiring process.
At Adobe, for sales roles starting salaries are expressed as total target compensation (TTC = base + commission), and short-term incentives are in the form of sales commission plans. Non-sales roles starting salaries are expressed as base salary and short-term incentives are in the form of the Annual Incentive Plan (AIP).
In addition, certain roles may be eligible for long-term incentives in the form of a new hire equity award.
