A great opportunity for a motivated student of the behavioral sciences - Adobe’s Design Team is looking for a strong intern candidate to learn the ins and outs of product research and strategy while assisting the product design team in decision making on both new and existing products. We need grad students with quantitative skills to help us identify behavioral traits in the data that can impact design decisions.

It’s a fantastic opportunity for someone in a masters or PhD program to use put their research skills to use while experiencing first hand the product development process at a large software company. We’re looking for candidates that have focused their education on behavioral research methods and/or data science. Must have a reasonable knowledge of qualitative and quantitative research methods, a clear understanding of when and why to use different methods and at least limited experience putting these methods in practice. Your role will allow you to work directly with a product team, help them define the questions to be explored and conduct primary research to address these questions. You will have an opportunity to see your recommendations and ideas put into action in future product releases as well as impact the product’s direction and strategy.

Applicants should be working on PhD in quantitative psychology, behavioral sciences. statistics, machine learning, or a related field.

You must be able to:

  • Learn about unfamiliar technology & professional user cultures quickly
  • Ask the right questions in order to create an effective study
  • Address the questions effectively and efficiently
  • Assess the project’s scope and determine appropriate methods for investigation
  • Develop a realistic research plan and supporting materials for a non-practitioner audience
  • Conduct rigorous research and analysis
  • Write/Present a clear and insightful set of findings based on your experiments.

What you need to succeed:

Must-have characteristics:

  • Quantitative Methods
  • Data Cleaning/Data Analysis skills (Python or R preferred)
  • Behavioral science knowledge
  • Verbal & visual communication skills

Nice to haves:

  • Database/SQL query writing
  • AI/ML skills
  • Knowledge of Adobe products (Creative Cloud, Marketing Cloud, Document Cloud/Acrobat)
