Adobe Design is seeking a cross-functional intern to join our team in the San Francisco design space.

The Opportunity: The Spectrum Toolset team is developing innovative tools that help designers and engineers work more successfully, together. These tools work in tandem with Spectrum, the design system that powers products across Adobe’s entire ecosystem.

The Role

We’re seeking a design-oriented frontend engineer who takes a creative approach to problem-solving, thinks holistically, and has a passion for creating products that help designers and engineers be successful.

You’ll be responsible for creating a new tool for the Spectrum toolset, which is a collection of applications and services that serve designers and engineers at Adobe. These tools empower our fellow product builders to be more creative, efficient and collaborative. In this role, you’ll talk to customers, conceive compelling new features, and iterate based on user feedback.

Our ideal candidate is one who is fluent in HTML, CSS and Javascript, can write stable and performant code, is detail-oriented, and a champion for accessibility.

In this role, you will:

  • Have meaningful ownership. You’ll make important decisions about the way our products look, feel and behave.
  • Bring the design to life. Use interactive prototypes to show interaction and drive usability testing with real users.
  • Be an advocate the for customer. Work with designers and researchers to understand user needs and advance patterns that benefit the common good.
  • Grow. You’ll sharpen your skills in this role, and learn how to take ownership of important aspects of our system.

Requirements

  • Junior or incoming Senior in a college degree program, preferably in design with an emphasis on graphic design, HCI, or related design field ]
  • Mastery of Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop and other design tools such as Keynote, Sketch, Flinto, and InVision
  • Familiarity with iOS and Android design languages
  • Experience with motion design and prototyping
  • Familiarity with HTML and Javascript a plus
  • Strong interpersonal, written and oral communication skills.
  • Willingness and ability to contribute to the creative spirit of the Experience Design team during your internship.
  • Love of all things design
