Are you a writer who loves design systems? Does the idea of researching, writing, an implementing standards across a world-class suite of professional software tools spark joy in your heart? Well, we believe design and words are equally meaningful to the user experience, and are taking strides to bridge the gap between them. That’s where you come in, as the content strategist for the Spectrum team, Adobe’s product design system

What you’ll be working on

  • You’ll be embedding with the Spectrum design team to bring clarity, consistency, and quality to the way the team researches and documents design components on their website. This may involve both strategy and writing.
  • You’ll be developing strategies to engage with the design and development communities, both within Adobe and the public at-large.
  • As someone whose finger is on the pulse of our central design efforts, you’ll be working with our small, expert UX content strategy team to help us standardize the way we standardize our interface language (and if that sounds like a fun challenge, let’s talk).
  • You’ll be working on special projects as needed, especially if it involves centralized consistency efforts.

What you’ll bring to the team

  • A serene, steadying energy — engaging with both our small, cohesive content strategy team, and our passionate, ambitious Spectrum design team
  • A proven track record for developing a content strategy, and tactically writing and designing toward that strategy
  • The ability to juggle and prioritize multiple projects at a time
  • Extraordinary writing and communication skills, and a sharp attention to detail
  • Experience leading wide, centralized content efforts for a large, diverse organization
  • Ability to present and sell your ideas, create coalition, and build support
  • 3+ years of experience in strategy and content development
  • Experience crafting and governing content standards, terminology, and UX writing efforts at a software company

  • Experience engaging with cross-functional partners of a design system
  • Experience with managing complex systems of terminology

How to apply

To be considered for this role, please submit your resume and portfolio. We’d especially like to see a strong writing foundation, a systems-thinking approach to design, and maybe even some experience engaging with a design system team.

This position is full time and is on-site at Adobe’s office in San Francisco.
