Introduction

Adobe Design is looking for an experience designer who can help create authoring tools that guide creative people into the fast-paced and emerging field of Augmented Reality. This is an opportunity to become part of the narrative for future storytellers.

We need a highly skilled and versatile designer who thinks holistically while caring about details. One who favors interactive prototypes over flat mockups, but knows what artifact will suffice for each stage of exploration. You have proven multi-device design experience and a love for critical analysis and problem-solving. Being able to articulate the thinking behind your design decisions is crucial.

You are a curious, articulate, and future thinking designer, you push the boundaries of design, technology and user experience and are passionate about the future of AR/VR/MR. We are looking for someone with proven experience wondering and/or working towards how the world will be impacted by the next wave of Augmented Reality authoring tools.

What you’ll be working on

  • Work with a multidisciplinary team to conceptualize and develop a content and authoring solution for Augmented Reality.
  • Work collaboratively with many designers from different parts of Adobe, incorporating their feedback into the design process. You will be expected and empowered to deliver high-quality of work on a daily basis
  • Work with our Research team to understand the audience and technologies to glean smart insights or truths which inform our work.
  • Be the voice of the user, balancing user requirements, client objectives, and reality.
  • Design, build and test interactive prototypes to help create iterative designs within this emerging medium.
  • Partner with product managers, engineers, user researchers, and designers to see our projects through, from concept to ship and beyond.
  • Create, direct and modify designs across different OS and hardware platforms with a focus on scalability and adaptability.
  • Take initiative, think big or small as needed, work autonomously or collaboratively, and contribute throughout the entire project cycle.
  • Evangelize for good design. Lead by example.

What you’ll bring to the team

Must-Haves

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in interaction/film design or equivalent design experience.
  • A proven track record of designing complex, pragmatic, and beautiful cross-platform UI designs that delight, innovate and scale
  • Strong prototyping abilities, know the tools required for prototyping immersive software and an understanding of the underling technologies that enable virtual, augmented reality and/or FX.
  • Deep understanding of spatial usability and fluent in current and emerging trends. Experience with 3D software and motion graphics is a plus.
  • Experience with all phases of the design process, from discovery, through design, into development and release.
  • Ability to organize product priorities, generate creative concepts based on consumer or business needs, and write compelling narratives to communicate ideas.
  • Awareness of how visual design languages and UI frameworks affect the design process. You love nothing more than creating, iterating, and evolving a visual interactive system.
