The Challenge

Adobe’s Document Cloud design team is looking for a skilled content strategist to develop content strategy and write UX content based on that strategy for the next generation of document management. You’ll work closely with UX designers, researchers, product managers, product marketers, and engineering to define information architecture, develop a system of terms and interface language, and set a tone that’s clear, engaging, and always customer-focused.

What problems you’ll be solving:

Adobe is experiencing a cultural shift to focus more effort on making the customer experience more consistent across products and services. We’re breaking down silos that make our products feel isolated from each other. Your expertise in communicating with customers will be felt across the company, and you’ll be contributing to a greater set of standards, terms, and voice initiatives that value clarity and empathy.

What you’ll do:

  • Collaborate with designers, researchers, program managers, product owners, and leaders across many business units and customer bases to create a cohesive and practical content strategy
  • Coordinate with content strategists in other product areas to adhere to, and contribute to, the working framework for terms, content standards, and voice and tone guidelines
  • Define and create content for in-app experiences like help, wizards, new feature highlights, and define hierarchy, information architecture, and definitions around this content
  • Work with internationalization experts to extend patterns to all supported languages
  • Work on site with designers in San Francisco’s Soma neighborhood at least four days a week


  • A proven track record for developing a content strategy and tactically writing toward that strategy
  • Ability to juggle and prioritize multiple projects simultaneously
  • Exceptional writing and communication skills and attention to details
  • Experience leading large content efforts
  • Ability to present and sell your ideas, create coalition, and build support
  • 3+ years of experience in strategy and content development


  • Experience with customer support for large, professional software initiatives
  • While this role is focused on UX design, a working knowledge of marketing and brand communication is a plus
  • Experience iterating alongside UX designers and contributing to their body of work in a fast-paced, ambiguous setting
  • Experience with prototyping tools like Sketch, Figma, InVision, or Adobe XD


Candidate must be able to work on site, 3-4 days a week, at the Adobe office in San Francisco’s Soma District or downtown San José (with occasional travel to the other).


40 hours a week for 6 months.
