The Opportunity

Are you a designer that loves to analyze every interface you see by breaking it down into the tiniest, reusable parts and then building it back up again – better and stronger? The Digital Video & Audio group inside of Adobe Design, is seeking a design intern to join the design system team!

We create the best-in-class pro tools, like Premiere Pro and After Effects, by applying Adobe’s Spectrum Design System.

You will help define new patterns, evolve old ones, and make sure the interface elegantly and intuitively reflects the user’s mental model in how they interact with the tool. For a new designer, this is a terrific opportunity to learn what it takes to build and maintain a design system. You’ll also get lots of exposure to designers across Adobe’s product teams!

What you’ll be working on

  • Applying and extending the Spectrum Design language, to design patterns specific to the time-based video editing and animation tools in DVA and contribute them back to our pattern libraries.
  • You will evangelize and communicate designs through sketches, storyboards, presentations, hi-fidelity mockups, prototypes, or animations.
  • From conception to final implementation, you will partner closely with a Senior Experience - Designer. Also, you will also interact with Product Management, and Engineering to present designs clearly and concisely.
  • You will fully specify designs for Engineering and continue to iterate on them, making smart trade-offs throughout the development cycle.
