The Opportunity

A phenomenal opportunity for a motivated students of the social and behavioral sciences - Adobe’s Design Team is looking for a strong intern candidate to learn the ins and outs of product research and strategy while assisting the design team in better understanding the needs of our users around identity and account management.

Our goal is to help our design partners understand human behavior and organizational complexity, and how these affect our user experiences.

It’s an ideal fit for an advanced student in an undergrad, masters or PhD program to put their research and communication skills to use while learning about the complexity of product design at a large company. Non-traditional and first generation students, as well as students from under-represented backgrounds particularly encouraged to apply.

By the end of your internship you should know how to:

  • Learn about unfamiliar technology & user cultures quickly
  • Ask the right questions in order to craft an effective study
  • Address the questions efficiently
  • Assess the project’s scope and decide appropriate methods for investigation
  • Effectively connect with people with a diverse set of backgrounds and abilities
  • Develop a realistic research plan and supporting materials for a non-practitioner

What you’ll do

  • Conduct rich and impactful research with Adobe’s customers and potential customers.
  • Drive deep synthesis and development of frameworks to guide product development.
  • Write and present a clear and insightful set of findings based on your research.
  • Participate in research team activities, presentations, shareouts, and collaborations.

Your role will allow you to build experience working collaboratively to tackle problems in a fast-paced business environment. You will have an opportunity to see your recommendations and ideas put into action by teams on Adobe Design as well as impact product direction and strategy.

What you’ll bring to the team


  • Enrolled in an accredited full-time educational program at the college or post-grad level
  • Experience working in a collaborative professional setting (volunteer experience counts!)
  • Must have a reasonable knowledge of qualitative and/or quantitative research methods as well as a basic understanding of design and technology.
  • Ability to learn, grow, try new things.
  • Verbal & visual communication skills, teaching experience highly desired!


  • Experience with b2b research, science and technology studies, organizational psychology/ anthropology.
  • Familiarity with or interest in Adobe’s creative (Photoshop, Indesign, Illustrator), document (Acrobat, PDF), and/or Experience (Analytics, AEM, Etc.) tools.
