The Opportunity

You’re an experienced designer who hears the words “end-to-end journeys” and gets excited about crafting experiences that every single new Creative Cloud user experiences in their “First Mile”, ensuring we understand their needs, help match them to the right products in Creative Cloud, capture their intent and interests, delight them with meaningful onboarding experiences, and help them find creative success. If you are eager to experiment, innovate, and take a data-led approach to optimizing the customer journey through Creative Cloud, we’d love to speak with you!

Adobe Design is seeking a Senior Designer to join the Creative Cloud Surfaces Team in New York or in the San Francisco Bay Area and help us choreograph, design, and execute multiple journeys for all our users. Your goal will be to help connect experiences from their “First Mile” to the “Last Mile” - creating experiences that gather explicit and implicit intent, to lay the foundation for personalization and value discovery, ultimately shortening the distance from “creative inspiration” to “creative success.”

We are crafting next-generation experiences for a wide range of users, across a variety of skills and experience —from designers to illustrators to photographers and filmmakers and more.

What you’ll do

As a key design member and thought-leader on the CC Surfaces Design Team, you will be an integral part of crafting end-to-end journeys across desktop, web, and mobile apps that help understand our users’ intent, accelerate their learning, connect them to communities, and facilitate teamwork and creation, and more. You will help us re-imagining how creative professionals work in the years to come.

In this role, you will:

  • Be a passionate collaborator. Partner with the product and marketing teams to deliver targeted, user-centered, on-brand experiences. Ensure test experiences are fully aligned with Adobe Design guidelines, user research, and the holistic user journey. Collect and act on feedback from fellow designers, cross-functional partners, product developers, research, and users.
  • Lead throughout all stages of the design process. Execute test experience designs from concept to high-fidelity interactive prototypes in Adobe XD. This process includes fleshing out multiple iterations that sequentially build on test findings.
  • Be flexible. Is your ideal design process iterative and high velocity? You will work on multiple projects at the same time, with timelines ranging from a few weeks to a few months.
  • Approach problems holistically. Understand the demographics, needs, and behaviors of people who use Creative Cloud by exploring our broad range of quantitative and qualitative research. Solve for both business and consumer needs.
  • Embrace empathy. Above all, serve as an advocate for the individuals who use our apps! Ideate and design with user-centered, research-led approach. Follow through on delivering a high quality experience for your test audience— even on projects with fast turnaround times.

What you need to succeed

We are looking for a candidate with a BA/BFA in a design-related field or applicable work experience, with a solid base in typography, layout, and design (with strengths in both visual design as well as UI/UX.) In addition, you should be:

  • Skilled in Adobe’s Creative Cloud products such as Illustrator, Photoshop, XD and other design tools such as Keynote, Sketch, or Figma
  • Ability to build functional prototypes to test with users
  • Experience working iteratively with an agile engineering team
  • Very strong interpersonal, written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to collaborate across multiple locations and provide thoughtful guidance and mentorship to other designers
  • A penchant for details and organization, including the ability to prioritize tasks, communicate progress, set, and meet goals
  • Willingness and ability to contribute to the creative spirit of the Adobe Design team
  • A real passion for collaborating across many subject areas

How to Apply

To be considered for this role, please submit your resume and portfolio. We’d especially like to see strong systems thinking, elegant design solutions, and a proven ability to adapt your designs based on what you learn.
