The Opportunity

Are you a writer who loves photography and digital imaging? Do you care deeply about the words we use when we talk about creative work? Want to work on a future-focused team that’s been serving creatives for more than 30 years? As a key design member and thought-leader on this team, you’ll be an integral part of exploring and influencing the next generation of Adobe’s creative tools. Together, we are forging a new class of experience standards for desktop, mobile, and web products for years to come.

What you’ll be working on

  • You’ll embed with the Photoshop design team to bring clarity, consistency, and quality to the way we design and message our users across Photoshop product experiences — from desktop to tablet.
  • You’ll develop strategies and standards on how Photoshop uses language, and how it connects with other creative apps in the Creative Cloud ecosystem.
  • You’ll report into our small, dedicated UX content strategy team to help us standardize how we standardize our interface language (and if that sounds like a fun challenge, let’s talk).

What you’ll bring to the team

Must-haves

  • A track record for developing a content strategy, and tactically writing and designing toward that strategy
  • Ability to present and sell your ideas, create coalition, and build support
  • Experience leading wide, centralized content efforts for a large, diverse organization
  • The ability to balance and prioritize multiple projects (think 5-10) at a time
  • Outstanding writing and communication skills, and a sharp attention to detail
  • 5+ years experience writing strategically for product experiences
  • Experience crafting and governing content standards, terminology, and UX writing efforts at a software company
  • Strong systems thinking and the ability to practice content design across a sophisticated, interconnected product ecosystem

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with, and a point of view on, creative tooling and how artists, photographers, and illustrators use software to bring their vision to life
  • Experience in working in a large organization with a diverse set of offerings and customers
  • Experience working with a design system or a centralized design team
  • Experience working on a highly visible brand or a legacy product offering

This position is full-time and is on-site at Adobe’s office in San Francisco.
