The opportunity

Adobe Design is looking for a Senior Designer to join our Creative Cloud Surfaces team to work on the Creative Cloud Desktop app! The Creative Cloud Desktop app is used by millions of users around the world - and provides access to apps, fonts, plugins, your files, tutorials, and other services to help users collaborate and accomplish their creative goals.

We are looking for someone who has a strong collaborative approach with partner teams and a deep well of empathy for users of our products. If you are eager to drive the continued evolution of the Creative Cloud desktop app, we’d love to speak with you!

Your focus will be on creating consistency in the UI/UX framework and defining next generation features for the desktop app. You will be working with multiple design and product partners across product experiences which include design collaboration, file management, learning journeys, account management, and membership value discovery across the Creative Cloud ecosystem.

We are crafting next-generation experiences for a wide range of users, across a variety of skills and experience —from designers to illustrators to photographers and filmmakers and more. While we are working remotely during the pandemic, we work closely every day to make the best products possible. This position is based in New York City or San Francisco, California.

What you’ll do

  • Approach problems holistically. Be an influential design leader, helping your cross-functional peers define strategy, requirements, and experiments to optimize multiple touchpoints of the funnel (SEO, targeted landing pages, on-boarding, communications, signed in/out workflows, etc.).
  • Imbue empathy - Uncover opportunities to decrease friction and enable new pathways by talking to and listening to users about their frustrations and goals.
  • Get results. As a core member of the team, you will work closely with Creative Cloud leadership, cross- functional leads, and drive design to meet/exceed established goals. You will partner with design and product leadership to define strategy and also get into the details by creating final designs to ship.
  • Encourage and enable collaboration. Identify alignment and opportunities for optimized end-to-end experiences across workflows, channels, devices, and segments. Partner with the product, content, engineering, and marketing teams to drive best-in-class experiences.

What you’ll bring to the team

  • A degree in a design-related field (HCI, interaction, visual), or comparable work experience
  • Demonstrated experience working in agency, start-up, or established consumer-facing software organization
  • Capable of balancing a growth mentality, ambiguity, and design quality standards
  • Strength in both interaction and visual design with an ability to prototype designs in lo-fidelity, quickly sketch rough, strategic concepts, and produce hi-fidelity designs.
  • Have analytical skills to facilitate research, synthesize and communicate findings into insights and opportunity areas that inform and inspire design
  • A desire to go beyond pixels: You think about both the experience and the overall product strategy. You’re curious about how business, social, technical and behavioral factors impact the UX across customer’s journey inside and outside the product experience.
  • The ability to articulate design decisions and problems persuasively and concisely to all functions of the organization, including executives
  • Excellent communicator and teammate, able to connect with others and inspire action and produce results that exceed our organizational goals and delight our users.
