The opportunity

Are you drawn to solving huge, abstract problems? Do you balance what’s right for the customer and the business in your work? Can you jump from strategic thinking to tactical implementation with ease? Adobe’s Design Strategy team is looking for a strategist to help tackle a wide variety of strategic challenges such as what business opportunities should product and design teams pursue or how might we bridge user success with business outcomes. They will come up with solutions, and articulate outcomes that will drive improved product and service experiences. We’ll do outstanding things together.

What you’ll do

  • Help with research and discovery to better understand our opportunities or challenges from multiple perspectives (i.e. user perspective, business perspective, technological perspectives, futurist perspective, etc).
  • Synthesize insights into cases that will help leaders align on the problem we should solve for.
  • Define frameworks, solutions, and model the projected impact of those solutions across relevant business metrics.
  • Use ideation and storytelling strengths to make compelling presentations and land strategic recommendations.
  • Manage project content, cadences, and communications, ensuring a high-quality experience for our working team partners, sponsors, and collaborators.

What you need to succeed

Must-haves

  • Proven experience (professional or academic) in strategy, innovation, service design, design research, product design, or equivalent
  • Track record of applying design strategy methodologies to produce successful outcomes from discovery through to implementation
  • Knowledge of a range of design approaches and research methodologies (e.g. product design, service design, systems thinking, UX, etc)
  • A history of grasping complex problems, evaluating user needs, and synthesizing actionable recommendations
  • Executive presence, presentation, and facilitation strengths
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Confidence and resourcefulness when faced with an unclear path
  • Experience building something from the ground up and shipping it (e.g. a program, an app, an organization, an event series, a small business, etc)
  • In your final year of a degree in design, business, or related field (graduate or MBA program preferred, but will consider undergrad candidates)

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in strategy or design consulting or in-house roles
  • Strong visual design skills in Keynote, Illustrator, XD or InDesign
  • Exposure to large-scale enterprise challenges
  • Proficiency in business modeling
