YouTuber Will Humphrey—known for his engaging WillOnAWhim channel—has got a lock on telling great stories and sharing hair care tips for people with natural hair, like himself. He also wants to sell merch to his followers (half a million subscribers on YouTube alone) and use the funds to support kids in foster care, having been raised that way himself. However, his website is functional but sparse, and doesn’t properly represent Will’s brand, energy, and purpose. The challenge then is how to help Will find a vision to design a more effective website.

Quote with a headshot of a man that reads "It's a cart without a house situation. Will has the cart, but it's not getting to anybody. We need to find the horse and design it." - Brandon, Designer

Browse through Will’s website as he continues to think through some design choices and tries out new ideas. You can also follow him on TikTok, Twitter, and Facebook.

This episode pairs Will with Courtney Quinn—a prolific online content producer you might know as Color Me Courtney. Courtney uses her own website as inspiration to help Will think through color theory, and how different tones and shades could prompt consumer behavior on the merch page. Find Courtney on Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube.

For a professional designer’s perspective on web design, we also connect Will with Brandon Groce. He’s a designer, speaker, content creator, and friend of Adobe – check out his design portfolio and follow Brandon on Instagram and YouTube.
